Company: Ormesby School Specialist in Engineering, Ormesby
Position: ICT Curriculum Assistant
Key Technologies: PHP, HTML, CSS, Microsoft Packages, JavaScript
The primary objective of my post at Ormesby School was to create a fully functioning School Intranet that allowed both students and staff to access the information they required. This involved liaising with members of staff and the Curriculum leader to ensure the information was clearly represented on the Intranet. Other duties included creating PHP forms for the students to fill in to give the staff some ideas about the students abilities. This progressed into a system that was used for all students within the school, with unit targets being set up on the students own space allowing them to fill in a form at the end of each unit to show their understanding of the topic. I was also acting as a contact for ICT technical support for teachers, who would frequently come to see me to resolve problems they were having.
Period: July 2003 - July 2004
Company: BT Exact, Broadband IVV&T Team, Ipswich
Position: Integration Engineer
Key Technologies: SQL, Oracle, UNIX Shell
The department undertook the Integration and 'End-to-End' testing activities of a Carrier Scale OSS (Operating Support System) used to market BT Wholesale's Broadband DSL services within the United Kingdom.
Day to day work involved testing BT's DSL provisioning system to a specification, model (OSS) configuration and test data maintenance. A proactive approach was required at all times to deal with the various problems found during testing.
Another key responsibility for me was to support the CAT (Customer Acceptance Testing) team at BT Wholesale in Coventry when Broadband releases went live.
